LAS VEGAS – This April, Olive Crest in Nevada, a nonprofit organization that transforms the lives of abused and at-risk children through the healing power of family, invites the Southern Nevada community to help raise awareness for Child Abuse Prevention by wearing blue. Throughout the month of April, Olive Crest in Nevada will offer an array of awareness initiatives, community drives and fundraisers.  Downtown Summerlin will kick off the month by turning the ONE Summerlin building blue Sunday, April 1, 2018, culminating with Olive Crest in Nevada’s signature annual fundraiser: Be the Change, An Evening of Hope cocktail party at Crimson, Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa, Saturday, April 21, 2018.

“Our programs and resources provided to families in crisis has resulted in over 7,000 safe nights for our community’s most vulnerable children,” said Myesha Wilson, executive director for Olive Crest in Nevada. “Child Abuse Prevention Month is an opportunity for us to bring awareness to our cause and engage our community with our message that at Olive Crest, “Child Abuse Stops Here!”

Sunday, April 1: ONE Summerlin: Downtown Summerlin shows support for Child Abuse Prevention Month and Olive Crest by turning the ONE Summerlin building BLUE at nightfall.

April 2 – May 4: Sparkling Spring Hygiene and Household Goods Drive: Olive Crest is looking for individuals, schools and businesses to donate hygiene items and household cleaning products to get spring cleaning off to a sparkling start. Friday, April 6: Go BLUE Day! Olive Crest in partnership with Prevent Child Abuse Nevada encourages everyone to do their part to raise awareness about preventing child abuse by wearing BLUE on Friday, April 6.

Saturday, April 14, 4 – 5:30 p.m. – Laughternoon: Comedy Magician Adam London’s family-friendly afternoon show is hilarious and delivers wit with clever sleight of hand magic. London has perfected his craft in comedy clubs around the world, including the world-famous Magic Castle in Los Angeles.

Saturday, April 21, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.: Be the Change… An Evening of Hope cocktail party

Olive Crest’s signature annual fundraiser Be the Change, An Evening of Hope cocktail party will be held at Crimson inside the Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa. The event will feature entertainment, drinks and hors d’oeuvres along with silent and live auctions. Supporters will be able to bid on fabulous items while supporting Olive Crest’s programs. Tickets are $150, and all funds raised will go to help our area’s most at-risk children and their families.
