United Way of Southern Nevada is calling on Nevada residents to get ready to “give where they live” during Nevada’s Big Give 2018, a 24-hour online crowdfunding event created to rally community support for Nevada’s charitable causes. On March 22, 2018, thousands of Nevadans will come together to support nonprofit organizations and schools across Nevada and make a real impact – every donation gives organizations the chance to win financial prizes while also furthering their mission.

“Nevada’s Big Give started in 2011 with a few friends in a coffee shop coming together to support local charities. Since then, over 15,000 people have rallied together to raise more than $3.4 million for local charities,” said Stacey Wedding, one of the founders of Nevada’s Big Give. “But the need is constant, and we won’t stop as long as there is work to be done. To help our community grow and thrive, we have to continue to provide financial resources to the organizations that are presenting solutions to the issues at hand.”

More than 500 charities have benefited from Nevada’s Big Give and donors are encouraged to make their donations early beginning February 22, 2018. Don’t have a favorite charity yet? Not a problem. Nevada’s Big Give not only encourages donors to support their favorite organization to help them win prizes, it provides them with an opportunity to explore new causes to rally behind as well. This gives participating non-profits increased visibility in our community along with access to potential new donors.

“We are so excited for the opportunity to unite together as a state through Nevada’s Big Give and help build the momentum in Northern Nevada for this statewide day of giving,” said Heidi Parker, MA, Executive Director, Immunize Nevada. “We see this as a perfect opportunity to not only fuel our own efforts but to bring our entire state together during one day dedicated to our local communities.”
