LAS VEGAS, NV – August 24, 2016 – The Walter Hoving Home will host their 10th Anniversary Gala to support program ministry and bring public awareness to the scourge of drug addiction that plagues our community. The gala will be held Oct. 20, at 6:00 p.m., at the JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa 221 North Rampart Blvd.

Gospel recording artist Annie Meadows will pspeak and sing. Dave Courvoisier of Channel 8 News will be the master of ceremonies. Dinner and program includes three course meal, Songs by the Sounds of Hope Choir and Testimonies from Ladies of the Walter Hoving Home. High end raffle prizes available including sports memorabilia, travel accommodations and electronics. Wall of diamonds gift card raffle available for purchase during the event, gift cards valued from $25-100.

“The funds raised from the 10th Anniversary Gala are vital to the Walter Hoving Home and rebuilding the lives of shattered women,” says Sylvia Marchael, Executive Director of Las Vegas home. “The home is not a rehabilitation center but Christ centered transformation center. These ladies are learning valuable and life changing principles that will forever impact the rest of their lives.”

Walter Hoving Home receives no Government funding and relies on private funding to continue. The home is funded through private donations, including individuals, churches, corporations, and foundations. Each year we hold special events such as a Walkathon, Phonathon, Banquet, Fashion Show, Golf Tournament, etc. Also we require a $500 entrance fee from the Ladies plus $500 support each month. The cost of helping a Lady is approximately $1800 a month. Each lady is assessed individually and we work with those who are unable to pay.

The Walter Hoving Home was founded 50 years ago in Garrison NY by Rev. John and Elsie Benton. Currently there are three homes, in Pasadena, CA, Las Vegas, NV, and Garrison, NY, lead by former graduate and President Beth Greco. The home has been serving women in the Las Vegas community since 2006. The purpose of our program is to help women become free from addictions and other life-controlling problems.
