LAS VEGAS, NV – February 12, 2015 – The Las Vegas Valley Humane Society invites the public to grab their canine companions and get ready to Wag, Walk & Roll on down to the 19th Annual Wag-A-Tail Walk-A-Thon. Animal lovers will unite on Sunday, March 22 at Centennial Hills Park, located at 7101 North Buffalo Drive, at Deer Springs Way behind the Centennial Hills Library, for a day of canine and family-friendly fun all to benefit The Las Vegas Valley Humane Society. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the walk starts at 9 a.m.

“The Las Vegas Valley Humane Society helps rescue or spay more than 3,000 dogs and cats each year and provides countless hours of advocacy for animal welfare issues, but we don’t do it alone,” said Karen Layne, president of the Las Vegas Valley Humane Society. “We’re grateful for the continued support from our community and invite animal lovers to gather their families, furry or not, and join us at the 19th Annual Wag-A-Tail Walk-A-Thon to raise funds and awareness for this important cause.”

The Wag-A-Tail Walk-A-Thon features a one-mile fun walk followed by a morning of family and pet-friendly activities including:

• Entertainment – Vegas Velocity Flyball Racing Team will be onsite demonstrating their team’s prowess and allowing dog-owners to test their canine’s skills on the course. American Canine Training will be on-site providing a dog-training demo followed by a Q&A session. Plus hear a performance from Elvis Tribute Artist – Paige Poole.
• Contests & Raffle Prizes – More than $15,000 in retail and dining certificates, show tickets, baseball tickets and more to give away as raffle baskets and prizes for contests including “King & Queen,” “Waggingest Tail” and “Musical Chairs With Your Dog.”
• Vendor Booths – Visit the vendor booths to get information on the latest pet resources, products, services, etc.
• Plus games and kid-friendly activities!

Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the walk starts at 9 a.m. Registration for the walk is $25.00 for adults through March 16, and $30.00 beginning March 17. Students are $15.00 with student ID, and children 12 and under are free. All proceeds will help the Las Vegas Valley Humane Society continue its mission to improve the welfare of animals in Southern Nevada by offering animal rescue and medical treatment, fostering, advocacy as well as low cost and free spay/neuter services through private veterinarians and clinics.
