Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada Gives Thanks to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department with Cookie Donation

Event presentation thanking local police for their service

LAS VEGAS, NV – August 18, 2016 – Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) is about to get a little sweeter with a cookie donation from local Girl Scouts to thank local officers for their service. Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada (GSSNV) will donate several hundred cases of their signature cookies, such as Thin Mints and Thanks-A-Lots, at area command stations, starting with a special cookie presentation with Assistant Sheriff Tim Kelly, Aug. 24, at 9:30 a.m., at LVMPD headquarters, 400 S. Martin L. King Blvd.

After the media presentation Girl Scouts from the GSSNV PR team will caravan to the eight LVMPD area command stations and deliver several hundred boxes of cookies for the officers to enjoy, along with homemade thank you cards.

“We are so very grateful for the service of our police officers,” said Liz Ortenburger, CEO Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada. “We want local law enforcement to know we appreciate all they do to keep us safe in our community.”

LVMPD’s eight area commands patrol more than 7,500 square miles of Clark County and serve their surrounding communities. They focus on crime prevention and improving the quality of life for the citizens they serve.
