Foundation for Positively Kids Opens School-Based Health Center at Dr. William “Bob” Bailey Middle School
New health center expected to serve over 5,000 kids from low income families
LAS VEGAS, NV – January 25, 2016 – Clark County School District (CCSD) students in the Sunrise Mountain area will now have access to quality, affordable health care with the opening of Foundation for Positively Kids’ newest school-based health care center at Dr. William “Bob” Bailey Middle School. The center will offer sick visits, well-checks, sports physicals, immunizations and other pediatric medical services. The center will be open Monday – Friday, from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., to CCSD students who are 18 years of age and younger, including younger siblings who reside in the same household or transient location of a student enrolled in the CCSD, and those in need of immunizations for enrollment. Families will be able to pay for services privately or through Medicaid and private insurance. Medicaid application assistance and referrals will also be available.
To honor the opening of Positively Kids’ new school-based health center, media, local dignitaries and the public are invited to enjoy refreshments and tours, on Jan. 26, from 10 a.m. – noon, at Dr. William “Bob” Bailey Middle School, at 2500 Hollywood Blvd. The school-based health center entrance is located on the north facing side of the campus.
“With the opening of our newest school-based health center, more kids in our community will have access to quality health care,” said Fred Schultz, CEO of Foundation for Positively Kids. “This becomes the fourth clinic operated by Foundation for Positively Kids for CCSD.”
“We are thrilled to partner with such a wonderful organization in the creation of this amazing facility,” said Kim Wooden, CCSD Deputy Superintendent. “With this health center so close to Sunrise High School and Hickey Elementary, we expect to serve as many as 5,000 CCSD students between the three schools.
